Loss of Innocence
Trapped in his idea of reality and conforming to his expectations.
Her eyes close and shes dreaming. Naiive.
Virgin dreams from a different life.
Before the truth came out, burning like the acid in her throat.
Like the passion of that night.
And the blood running through her veins.
Nauseated by the memories of him
And what they did.
His hand on her stomach
And his voice in her ear,
Whispering. Begging. Commanding.
Yes. Please. Now.
By living up to what he wanted she failed.
Her dreams, her hopes, her expectations.
Her childhood and heart both ripped in two.
His promises and lies are the same thing
And they won’t make it go away.
Now, even her dreams have deserted her.
So she retreats to her cold bed… and another sleepless night.
